• Meet the Puppies

These are the doberman puppies who came to us as rescue on April 24, 2016. They are all females from a litter of ten, their approximately birthday is March 21, 2016. The word was that the mother died shortly after birth and after some complications six of these have been rescued and distributed in two groups. Eventually the Three Pups - around four weeks old - ended up in our care in San Diego for fostering, to see what the future holds for them.

    Lilly

    Picture from May 8, 2016

Black/Tan female, she is a pretty straight forward girl.

    Elsa

    Picture from May 1, 2016

Elsa is the red puppy female with the bright eyes. She is a little reluctant at times, and slightly smaller, but not afraid of a puppy-brawl.

Princess is another black/tan puppy girl, she looks pretty much like Lilly.

    Meet the Big Guy

    May 1, 2016

Slowly our young adult Skylar the Doberman is warming up to the new arrivals. On this picture he looks at Princess. Skylar was reluctant to approach the puppies, but starting on this day he came around and sniffed them out a bit.

Getting outside for the first time

    May 7, 2016

We build an x-pen in the backyard and had the pups on real grass for the first time. The enjoyed it quite a lot, and have been sooo tired later :-)

    Meeting others

    May 11, 2016

The puppies are meeting with other dogs to learn good social behavior from the more mature ones. On the picture you see Dante the Husky with Elsa. Earlier we had Aria the Coydog in the pen.

    Skylar warms up

Skylar the Doberman warms up to the three puppies. The picture shows him relaxing in the X-Pen, with all three nibbling somewhere. That is probably the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

    Elsa is on her way

    May 21, 2016

Elsa is the first to leave the siblings... she found a new forever home and moved on. We are happy to see that happen, but sad at the same time.

    Princess is on her way

    June 1, 2016

Princess found a new forever home! She is leaving the pack today and looks forward to a great future. As with Elsa, who left earlier, it is bitter sweet to see her leave, but it is all good.

    Lilly is here to stay

    June 1, 2016

Lilly will stay with us, so all the Three Pups have been spoken for. This actually concludes this website. The journey does not end for the three pups, but they go separate ways from today on. Here is a big thanks to all who helped to make this happen.

“It takes a Village to raise a Puppy”

Here is a special thanks to some of the villagers

Susan rescued the puppies in the first place and helped to get everything arranged.

Alexandra made all the connections, helped with advice and practical support all the time.

Keith and his daughter Kristen from the neighborhood stepped up and helped to supervise the pups whenever we asked.

Karuna did a lot of shopping, de-fleeing and general kindness when we could not do it alone.
